THE RAINIER POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Rainier Police Department is pleased to welcome you to the Rainier Police Department website. The Rainier Police Department currently consists of 6 police officers, 1 police/ court clerk, and 5 reserve officers. As an organization, we are committed to the concept that the citizens of Rainier are our customers and deserving of the highest quality of service.

This department is responsible for all law enforcement activities within the City of Rainier. The police department is the largest department within the General Fund, accounting for approximately 60% of the total General Fund budget. The police department provides a variety of program activities including: general administration, patrol and traffic functions, training, enforcement of city ordinances, along with state and federal laws, investigation of crime, community relations, intergovernmental cooperation and agreements with other law enforcement agencies.

We currently have officers who are assigned to the Columbia County Major Crimes Team, the Columbia Enforcement Narcotics Team and the Critical Incident Response Team.
