City Hall Getting Accessibility Improvements

The City of Rainier has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department (OECD) to provide handicap accessibility improvements in Rainier’s historic City Hall.

The primary component of the project remove accessibility barriers is through the construction and installation of an elevator providing public access to the Community room on the second floor at City Hall.  The project will also provide much needed library space.  The proposed project will meet the national objective of benefiting low and moderate income persons through the removal of architectural barriers which restrict the accessibility of elderly or handicapped persons in a public building.  This project is currently construction is anticipated by summer of 2006.
